Canada: Unionized workers at West Fraser’s Eurocan pulp and kraft paper mill are supporting the idea of buying the operation the company wants to close down.
France: New successful employee share plans for Bouygues, Saint-Gobain, Capgemini, Vallourec. Growing interest about workers' co-operatives. Some new employee buyouts.
Germany: Consequences of the crisis – Siemens employee shareholders' association demands to change the Statutes of the company. General Motors will agree on employee ownership scheme for Opel employees.
Ireland: Employees at Eircom, who own 35pc of the operator through the Employee Share Ownership Trust (Esot), have endorsed the new takeover. The vote paves the way for Eircom's fifth owner since its flotation in 1999.
Italy: A turning point for employee share ownership in Italy.
Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Petroleum, Natural Resources and Privatisation will distribute share options  among regular and contractual employees of Pakistan State Oil. So far nine Benazir Employees Stock Option Scheme trusts have been established in different State Owned Enterprises.
Spain: Employee-owned companies better resist to the crisis. American unions take Spanish workers co-operatives as a model and a way to stabilize jobs in an area as well as democratize ownership.
UK: The mutual ownership structure is back in vogue among both the Left and the Right in the wake of the financial crisis, all referring to John Lewis Partnership's model. Ownership is back on the frontline - The time has come for a radical change in the way we think about public services. The way ahead lies not in outsourcing, but in empowering frontline staff and allowing them to take control of – and responsibility for – the services they deliver. Some new employee buyouts.
USA: John Logue was diagnosed with a particularly virulent cancer on December 6 and was gone by December 9. He touched so many of us in a personal way that it takes editorials to reach all who need to know.
South Africa: Solidarity Union spokesman says directors should not take part in employee share ownership schemes. The shares allocated to them could be better used in empowering staff.

Le vote des actionnaires ouvre la voie au cinquième changement de contrôle de l'entreprise depuis sa privatisation en 1999.
Italie: Un tournant pour l'actionnariat salarié en Italie.
Pakistan: Le Ministre du Pétrole et de la Privatisation s'apprête à distribuer des stock options aux salariés permanents de Pakistan State Oil. Neuf trust d'actionnariat salarié sont déjà en place dans différentes entreprises d'Etat.
Espagne: D'après une étude universitaire, les sociedades laborales résistent mieux à la crise. Les syndicats américains adoptent le modèle coopératif espagnol de Mondragon en vue de stabiliser l'emploi local et de démocratiser la propriété.
Royaume Uni: La propriété mutualiste fait un retour en vogue à gauche comme à droite dans le contexte de la crise financière, tous mettant en vitrine le modèle d'actionnariat salarié du John Lewis Partnership. Bientôt le temps d'un changement radical pour l'organisation des services publics? Plusieurs nouvelles reprises d'entreprises par les salariés.

Kanada: Gewerkschaftsnahe Arbeiter der West Fraser’s Eurocan Zellstoffpapierfabrik unterstützen die Idee des Erwerbs der Produktionsstätte, welche die Gesellschaft schließen möchte.
Frankreich: Neue erfolgreiche Modelle der Mitarbeiterbeteiligung in den Firmen Bouygues, Saint-Gobain, Capgemini, Vallourec. Wachsendes Interesse an Genossenschaften. Neue Buyouts durch Mitarbeiter.
Deutschland: Ergebnis der Krise – Mitarbeiteraktionäre bei Siemens wollen eine Satzungsänderung durchsetzen. General Motors stimmt einem Beteiligungsmodell der Opel-Mitarbeiter zu.
Irland: Die Belegschaft der Eircom, welche zu 35% über eine Beteiligungsgesellschaft (Esot) beteiligt ist, hat einer neuen Übernahme zugestimmt. Die Zustimmung ebnet den Weg für den fünften Eigentümerwechsel seit der Privatisierung 1999.
Italien: Wendepunkt für die Mitarbeiterbeteiligung in Italien.
Pakistan: Der Minister für Öl, natürliche Ressourcen und Privatisierung beabsichtigt die Verteilung von Aktienoptionen an Mitarbeiter der staatlichen Ölgesellschaft. Bisher wurden neun Benazir Mitarbeiteraktienoptionspläne in staatlichen Gesellschaften umgesetzt.
Spanien: Unternehmen in Mitarbeiterhand überstehen Krisen besser. Amerikanische Gewerkschaften nehmen spanische Genossenschaften als Vorbild und betrachten sie als Weg zur Sicherung von Arbeitsplätzen und zur Demokratisierung der Eigentümerverhältnisse.
Großbritannien: Gemeinsames Eigentum an Unternehmen liegt im Trend der Linken wie der Rechten als Folge der Finanzkrise und unter Bezug auf das John Lewis Partnership's Model. Mitarbeiterbeteiligung ist wieder in der Diskussion - Die Zeit für ein Umdenken im Bereich der öffentlichen Dienstleistungen hat begonnen. Die Lösung der Probleme wird nicht mehr im Outsourcing gesehen, sondern in der Übernahme von Verantwortung und Entscheidungsbefugnis durch die Mitarbeiter vor Ort. Einige Mitarbeiter-Buyouts.
USA: Bei John Logue wurde am 06. Dezember Krebs im fortgeschrittenen Stadium diagnostiziert. Er verstarb am 9. Dezember. Mit seiner persönlichen Art sprach er so vielen von uns aus dem Herzen.
Südafrika: Ein Gewerkschaftssprecher vertritt die Ansicht, dass Direktoren sich nicht an Mitarbeiterbeteiligungsmodellen beteiligen sollten. Die den Direktoren zugeteilten Aktien sollten eher den Mitarbeitern zufließen.

Canada: I dipendenti sindacalizzati della cartiera West Fraser’s Eurocan sostengono l’idea di acquistare l’attività che la Società vuole chiudere.
Francia: Nuovi piani azionari di successo per Bouygues, Saint-Gobain, Capgemini, Vallourec. Crescente interesse per le cooperative. Qualche nuova ripresa d’azienda da parte dei dipendenti.
Germania: Conseguenze della crisi – L’associazione azionisti dipendenti Siemens richiede modifiche statutarie. General Motors concorda sul piano di azionariato per I dipendenti Opel.
Ireland: I dipendenti di Eircom, proprietary del 35% tramite l’Employee Share Ownership Trust (Esot), hanno vissuto il nuovo cambio di controllo. Il voto apre la strada alla quinta proprietà dalla quotazione nel 1999.
Italia: Un punto di svolta per l’azionariato dei dipendenti.
Pakistan: Il Ministro Federale del Petrolio, Risorse naturali e Privatizzazioni distribuirà opzioni azionarie ai dipendenti fissi della Pakistan State Oil. Finora nove Benazir Employees Stock Option Scheme trusts sono stati istituiti in diverse Società a controllo statale.
Spagna: le Società controllate dai dipendenti resistono meglio alla crisi. I sindacati americani prendono a modello le coop Spagnole per la stabilizzazione dell’occupazione e la democratizzazione della proprietà.
UK: La struttura di “mutual ownership” è di nuovo in auge, sia presso la destra che presso la sinistra alla luce della crisi finanziaria; il modello è la John Lewis Partnership. La proprietà è di nuovo in primo piano. E’ ora di un cambio radicale nel modo di pensare ai servizi pubblici: la strada non è nell’outsourcing,  ma nel potenziamento degli organici e nella possibilità di prendere controllo – assumendosene la responsabilità – sui servizi erogati. Nuove riprese d’azienda.
USA: John Logue, vittima di un cancro particolarmente maligno, è mancato lo scorso 9 dicembre. La sua persona era così conosciuta e apprezzata che solo la stampa può raggiungere tutti quelli che vogliono ricordarlo.
Sudafrica: Il portavoce del sindacato Solidarity sostiene che  il management non dovrebbe prender parte ai piani di azionariato. Le azioni loro assegnate potrebbero esser meglio utilizzate per la motivazione del personale.
