                          The
European Parliament's Committee on Employment and Social
Affairs published a study on the Spanish model of sociedades
                          laborales.
This business model is characterized by the majority
of the company's capital being held by employee shareholders.
Initially in the 80's, its creation was linked to processes
                          of crisis and industrial reconversion.
Since the mid 90's, it had an important boom in corporate
                          processes, boosting enterprise creation.
                          Today, 66.000employees
are working for the 10.000 sociedades laborales,
most of them being shareholders of the company they
                          work for.
This is a typical business model for employee ownership
                          in very small enterprises.
